Facultét Publication: Temporary Suspension of Applications from Certain Visa Jurisdictions

Starting on 27 September 2025 at 00:01 (Lisbon), Facultét is temporarily suspending the acceptance of new applications and payments from applicants whose visa cases are handled by the following consular jurisdictions: Nigeria, Chad, Ghana, Cameroon, Togo, Benin, Niger, as well as Pakistan — if the applicant is located outside Portugal. The reason is the instability and unpredictability of visa appointment availability, which objectively prevents us from delivering our services within the promised timeframes.

What changes

• Acceptance of payments and applications from the listed jurisdictions (for applicants located outside Portugal) will cease as of 27.09.2025 00:01.
• If you are already in contact with our team, payment is possible until and including 26.09.2025. Payments made after this date will be refunded, as the service cannot be provided due to visa constraints.
• Current students and applicants who are already in Portugal are not affected by this notice. Operations continue as planned.
• Candidates from other jurisdictions may apply as usual.

Equal treatment and non-discrimination
This decision is based exclusively on external operational constraints of visa centers and is not related to nationality, ethnicity, religion, origin, or any other characteristic. It applies to all applicants equally where the described visa dependency exists and the applicant is located outside Portugal. Once the consular situation stabilizes, admissions will resume.

• I am a citizen of one of the listed countries and already in Portugal. Can I apply? Yes. This notice concerns applicants located outside Portugal.
• What happens to a payment after 27.09.2025? The payment will not be accepted. If it is received in error, we will issue a refund.
• When will admissions resume? After sustained availability of visa appointments in the listed jurisdictions is confirmed. We will update the information on the website without delay.
• Are there alternatives? You may remain on a notification list or consider starting in a later cohort if the visa situation changes.
